So much good info about hikes and walks in Westchester. Enough here for a year's worth of exploration.

As someone who has hiked trails in the Taconics, Hudson Highlands, Northern New Jersey and Harriman State Park for the last thirty years, this guide is a welcome addition to my library, especially because it describes walks that are within an easy drive or can be reached from public transport (not all) if one lives in Westchester county or New York City. I have found the guide largely quite accurate when exploring, walking or scouting trails I intend to have others join.

After living in NYC for too many years, my husband and I moved to Westchester to "get away from it all." This book has been a great resource for local hiking, biking and picnic spots, places that you'd usually never learn about.
